Summer is just around the corner, and what better way to cool off on a hot day than with a delicious tropical smoothie? Today, we’re sharing a recipe for a Bahama Mama smoothie that’s sure to hit the spot.

This smoothie is packed with fruity flavors, including pineapple, banana, and orange. It’s creamy and smooth, thanks to the addition of coconut milk, and it’s sweetened with just a touch of honey (optional). For an extra tropical twist, we like to add a splash of coconut extract, but feel free to omit it if you prefer.

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious smoothie:

  • 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 banana, fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)
  • 1 tsp coconut extract (optional)

To make the smoothie, simply add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend on high speed until smooth and well combined. This should only take about 1 minute.

Pour the smoothie into a glass or jar and serve immediately. It’s delicious on its own or topped with a sprinkle of coconut flakes or a dollop of whipped cream.

This Bahama Mama smoothie is a refreshing and flavorful way to cool off on a hot day. Give it a try and let us know what you think!

Notes

If you don’t have coconut milk on hand, you can use any other type of milk or dairy-free milk alternative in its place.
If you don’t have frozen pineapple chunks, you can use fresh pineapple and add a few ice cubes to the blender to give the smoothie a frosty texture.
If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, you can add more honey or use a different sweetener, like agave nectar or maple syrup.
You can omit the coconut extract if you don’t have any on hand or if you don’t like the flavor.
If you want to add some extra nutrients to your smoothie, you can try adding a handful of spinach or kale, a scoop of protein powder, or some chia seeds.
This smoothie can be served immediately or chilled in the fridge for a few hours before serving. It will thicken as it sits, so you may need to add a splash of milk or water to thin it out before serving.
This recipe makes one serving, but it can easily be doubled or tripled to serve more people. Just be sure to use a blender with a large enough capacity to accommodate the increased volume
